Overall, the culture of Morning Pointe is quite toxic, unlike anything I have ever seen. The organization has pushed on the communities to reduce turnover, and it was often said that community leadership needed to look inward and examine themselves if their turnover is so high. “Where are you failing your employees? How can you make them feel more valued? What is the culture in your community?”
Morning Pointe upper leadership needs to do the same for themselves. It is high time that they look inward at the culture they foster and encourage. It is one of such toxicity, despite the values that the owner preaches about. The hypocrisy is astounding, and it would be funny if it were not so disturbing and damaging. Morning Pointe has some of the highest turnover in the industry for their key roles: ED and DON. It’s widely known and talked about among peers.
But nothing is likely to change because when anyone dares do speak up and question behavior and actions….well those folks are simply pushed out and let go. It’s a shame that an organization cannot take accountability for their behavior and choices. And it’s a bigger shame the things that are allowed to happen.
I know the standard for this is a response from the organization: “we are so sorry to hear you had a poor experience. We would love to talk more. Please call us at…” But that’s not sincere, is it? Because no one in that office wants to hear anything but “yes” and “okay”.
