Pros

Absolutely none - I regret taking this role

Cons

This is a company that treats people in a disgusting manner. You can do a good job but once you have outlived your usefulness you will be pushed out. There’s no support here. Think unrealistic deadlines and staff burnout alongside a lack of any sort of interest in staff welfare or development. Exec level managers are struggling and rather than admitting they are failing they take it out on good staff. If you want to work somewhere where you feel supported this is not the pllace. Think of a company where every senior person is only acting to protect themselves and you get the idea. They’re not even competent enough to do their own jobs well and are u likely to get similar positions elsewhere. Egotistical and arrogant leaders that only care about themselves. They have zero talent and have broken this place. You can’t expect HR to help as they just gaslight staff to protect the executives. They should all be ashamed of themselves. Vile leaders that are incompetent and treat staff like you wouldn’t treat your worst enemy. Zero care, zero appreciation and zero work life balance. Put simply the culture sucks.

Pros

I feel proud of the work we’re doing. The people are easily one of the best parts. People work hard, are supportive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. There’s a strong sense of purpose, and I’ve always felt like I’m contributing to something meaningful, especially seeing the company grow from a startup into a scale-up. The culture here is genuinely welcoming and inclusive. I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience and have always felt supported in helping new starters feel at home. Diversity is clearly a priority, and while there’s still work to be done (especially in increasing female representation in senior roles), the commitment to improvement feels sincere.

Cons

While no company is without its challenges, there are a few areas that could use some attention. Certain internal processes could be made more efficient through automation especially as we grow, and there’s definitely an opportunity to strengthen development and internal mobility. Clearer pathways for career progression and a stronger focus on retaining and growing internal talent would make a big difference. That said, these are more opportunities for improvement than major concerns. Flexible working is a standout benefit, our hybrid model is truly flexible, built on trust and a mature approach. The overall benefits package is impressive for a company of this size and stage, including private medical coverage (even for families), enhanced family leave, great pension, perks scheme, and access to EV and cycle-to-work schemes. In terms of pay, compensation is fair compared to my past roles, with a discretionary bonus and annual review based on both individual performance and company results.

Pros

employees are hard working and supportive

Cons

Monument bank have some truly awful leaders. I have witnessed some disgusting behaviours this year that make me question whether my future is here. EXCO treat their employees as disposable regardless of how much work they do and how talented they are. There's no recognition or support. If you complain about workload or the way you are treated you are seen as being negative and will be pushed out. I have been left speechless on more than one occasion this year by the actions and behaviour of senior leaders that should know much better. Start ups are tough but monument have taken that to a whole new level and in doing so have shown that they don't really care about staff development and support and they also turn a blind eye when there are people not coping with ridiculous workloads. If you can't handle the workload or the inappropriate way very senior managers speak to you then you are seen as the problem, not the culture or the workload. I have raised workload concerns with my EXCO manager a number of times and they are ignored. I have worked here for a while now and regret giving so much of my time to a company where its leaders are only interested in themselves. You can't expect HR to help either as they only support EXCO wishes, with everyone else being dispensable. Do not take a role here if you value yourself and your mental health. They will break you.
