The hiring process is not rigorous. You basically just have to be liked. There are no reference checks and no verification of skills.
Cons
It's a one man ship. Turnover is over 50% annually and everything is decided at the owner's whim, which changes daily. The majority of the long term staff are either family, long term friends of family, or small town individuals with little qualifications and no comparable prospects. There is no leadership as anyone with a different view or vision is immediately replaced.
