Pros

I absolutely loved my job at Modoma. The pay was great, the people were amazing, and the hours were really good!

Cons

The owner of the company did not treat his employees well, the business closed down and all employees found out the day of, none of the employees that worked there at the time it closed got paid for the last 3 weeks of work and to this day I haven’t seen a check… at this point, I’m not expecting to ever see one.

Pros

Loyd Hale is an extraordinary entrepreneur, especially in respect to looking out for the latest and greatest in marketing tools and trends. Thanks to his proactive curiosity, I was able to research and learn about several marketing tools that have become more and more essential to the field.

Cons

If you are looking for a big corporate environment to pick up the slack, it's quite the contrary. Be ready to touch anything that gets the job done.

Pros

The pay is decent comparable to a step above a chiropractor job and slightly below a high end spa. The session times are always 50 minutes which is a pro and a con to me. You will work with many of the same patients and see some of them get better, but some of them will be forever clients so this is another pro/con. Bonus pay for peak hours. FT employees get paid even if they aren't booked. Decent benefits and company culture. Coworkers are generally kind and helpful. Patients are on a care plan with the help of multiple service providers. Paid no show or last minute cancellations.

Cons

The training process is not thorough enough in my opinion. There is not a very clear consensus on how PMAs(LMTs) should be caring for patients other than "do your notes, ask them their pain level and tell them to come back at x frequency." Current more informed medical massage therapy practices would NOT perpetuate treatment/diagnosis such as lower/upper cross syndrome or posture correctors. It's not the end of the world that Modoma practices this way I just know that there is a more modern and eloquent way of communicating to clients why they could benefit from medical massage while being more realistic and evidence based with expectations. Obviously I am not watching the nurse practioners or medical team all the time so I cannot be certain on what exactly it is they're doing, but based on my interactions with them I cannot help but feel that they are somewhat misleading clients specifically with the trigger point injections. There has been a consistent stocking issue with the mRx cream(lidocaine) it is unfair to clients who have been prescribed to go without it for weeks or months. Stocking issues are generally more frequent then other jobs I have worked at. There are a lot of communication issues. FT employees expected to be MTs and housekeepers, there just isn't enough time/adequate pay for the place to be upkept properly this way.
