Pros

Most of the doctors and VA/RVTs are wonderful, smart, passionate people. The 4 x 10 hour shifts would be great if you didn't spend the other 3 days in an anxiety spiral about returning to work.

Cons

The amount of effort put into marketing this company as a caring, respectful workplace is mind-boggling when you are hired and see the reality. It's actually a little psychotic to pinpoint exactly what the industry needs, articulate that, and then do the opposite. Gaslighting happens daily. As an employee you are watched, tracked, and assessed as if you are always on the edge of disciplinary action, even as a high performer. In fact - you are always on the edge of disciplinary action. It is made very clear that you do not matter as an individual, at least at the in-clinic level. Experienced, skilled nurses are treated like children by incompetent management. People are discriminated against, staff are fired in the middle of work days, and anyone seen to be wavering at all are deemed "too negative" and "not displaying Modern Animal behaviors", only to be written up and their job security threatened. It is by far the most toxic environment I have ever worked in and navigating this company has harmed my overall wellbeing.

Pros

Pet care discounts only for your own pet.

Cons

The work was completely draining and exhausting. Asking for a raise felt like putting a target on your back because management seemed determined to find any excuse to push people out. Employees stayed silent, kept concerns to themselves, and avoided speaking up about ideas or problems out of fear of being unfairly fired.
