Pros
I made decent money at the Lansing location as a server. I made about $700 on average, working 33 hours a week. When I was first hired I Had a great staff to work with. Best kitchen staff I ever worked with.
Cons
Landry's is the biggest hospitality corporation in America now owning over 500 franchises nationwide. Landry's bought all 13 Mitchell's locations in 2015. Since then Mitchell's has had a sharp decline in staff quality. Turnover has escalated and lots of talent has made a mass migration out of the company. -We were forced to sell these frequency cards and would be threatened with termination if we didn't sell them. These loyalty cards are on a point system giving customers free food when they reach a certain amount. The catch is the customer would get an E-Mail whenever they dined, asking them how there service/food was. These customers opinion would go straight to corporate and the restaurant's management would get yelled at for a sub-par customers opinion. most of these customers were over forty. Then corporate would send them a free gift card and they would come back and do the same thing over again. I never got any complaints but I saw it happen a lot. Most of the servers that had stayed with Mitchell's since it opened left the restaurant shortly after I started. (I really liked those guys) -We slowly lost our best customers leaving only the customers who only complained and wanted free food. -Kitchen had high turnover as well. -Management seemed extremely stressed out all the time and sometimes took it out on the employees.
