Pros
During my time there, I enjoyed working with my fellow RNs. The physicians were kind and easy to work with as well.
Cons
From my understanding, it could’ve been the nurse manager at the time of my employment and not the hospital itself. Needless to say there was no family support whatsoever. We had just moved to Asheville and didn’t have childcare and when the childcare we did have fell through and I couldn’t work suddenly, the nurse manager told me that I had to quit and if I quit without giving 30 days notice, I’d be blacklisted from Mission. Needless to say it showed their true colors. I felt completely expendable and without any support when emergencies arise. It was the first time I felt like a cog in the wheel of a healthcare system. They only needed me to fill the slot. They also have a ridiculous policy where you had to schedule out your big vacations a year in advance which I felt was outrageous. I never worked at a hospital system where the nurses were treated so poorly in regards to SUPPORT and Vacation and PTO time. I only ended up working there for six months and went on to bigger and better things. Hopefully things have gotten better since I’ve left.
