      Pros

      compensation for not finishing 90 day introductory period.

      Cons

      Long term staff being allowed to be militaristic and almost bully-ish under the guise of "patients first". Hiring staff knowing they're not qualified to successfully perform the job -especially in a high volume environment. Preceptors not even attempting to guide and teach. Thus, creating an unconducive learning environment. Not giving you time to absorb the overload of information and tasks.

      Full time hours, possible Overtime, I am on a great team, and the people there are really supportive and friendly . They welcomed the new comer with open arms and never once felt like a burden. I

      Short staffed, Not as consistent with some of the processes but they are working on it

      Pros

      Great nurses, resilient community, many leadership growth opportunities, large hospital with many specialties, the only level 1 trauma center in WNC.

      Cons

      The hours are very challenging. often 5am to 6pm M-F. No additional compensation for extra hours, nights, or on-call weekends. You must love the work, and have minimal need for work-life balance to enjoy working here.
