Pros

Co-workers have been the only bright spot.

Cons

Pay is low, with management making it clear there are no opportunities for raises now or in the future. Student loan assistance is touted, but recently it was announced that they were cutting the monthly assistance to $100 and it is taxed heavily. Management makes you feel guilty taking PTO, complaining they cannot find substitute coverage and requesting that you rescind your request even though they had approved time off 6 months prior to the day.

Pros

Great nurses, resilient community, many leadership growth opportunities, large hospital with many specialties, the only level 1 trauma center in WNC.

Cons

The hours are very challenging. often 5am to 6pm M-F. No additional compensation for extra hours, nights, or on-call weekends. You must love the work, and have minimal need for work-life balance to enjoy working here.
