Pros

PTO accrual is fair enough.Ability to do Self scheduling. Heath insurance is mediocre. Short term and long term disability is fair.

Cons

I've been employed here for 7+ years. I've had one raise since being employed. That is standard for CNA's in my staffing pool department. Everyone else in other departments received a raise. Nurses in staffing pool department also received raises. CNA's are always overlooked when it comes to compensation and pay increases.

Sounds like there are some Pros, but concerned about your Con. I asked our Compensation team about this, and Staffing Pool rates are flat rates of pay adjusted periodically based on changes in the market. They will be looking at this role as part of the market adjustment process soon to determine the competitiveness of the current staffing pool rate. Please contact HRDC if you have other questions or concerns, and we will try to find an answer for you.

Pros

Great nurses, resilient community, many leadership growth opportunities, large hospital with many specialties, the only level 1 trauma center in WNC.

Cons

The hours are very challenging. often 5am to 6pm M-F. No additional compensation for extra hours, nights, or on-call weekends. You must love the work, and have minimal need for work-life balance to enjoy working here.
