Pros

Moderately good training Relaxed management system

Cons

Pay unethically the lowest in Malta, most people are payed minimum wage, i.e., anyone coming from a third world country. The locals and/or European employees are paid roughly 14 to 16k on starting of which it will be split, for example, 10k is your base salary and the remaining would be a 4-6k bonus (this includes the government bonuses). They do this to reduce the amount of overtime they pay you significantly. The Lab is tremendously dirty with a cleaner who does not do anything and spends majority of their time on there phones in the backroom, outside, or anywhere else where people cant find them and tell them to work. Employees continuously complain about this as no glassware is available to work with or in its place. Overtime is requested daily Training of certain equipment will be avoided and may take up to 2 years waiting time before you are officially trained, note: you would still be doing the work of this equipment but if you leave you would have never been officially trained and therefore other employers may not believe you, preventing career progression Glassware and other basic equipment, such as gloves, Pasteur pipettes, centrifuge tubes, all glassware, weighing boats, centrifuge tube racks, among other very basic items tend to be scarce and/or missing entirely. There would be days without any gloves, Pasteur pipettes, or no weighing boats at all. There is no real form of organization where samples, salts, and chemicals have their designated areas but are placed randomly within those areas making it extra difficult and time consuming for all employees.
