Pros

Wow...hard to think of any really. The people working at Mirus are nice. There is one nice guy in Management - the Finance director. It all started out OK but it got really bad quickly. Got a laptop and a phone, but neither were new. Got a used car.The customers were nice mostly.

Cons

Believe me, all the reviews here are unfortunately very true! I was an engineer out in the field for two years. Always thought it would get better but it never did. To the outside world Mirus looks like a great place to work - accolades etc and some "fun" videos and clips on Youtube. Last time I looked on their Website it had pictures of people that had all left, lol. I keep in touch with a few people via LinkedIn etc and they have all left and are very glad of it! Management at Mirus is beyond bad - it is tyrannical! You are really pushed to perform but it is all about the management figures at he end of the day. My laptop had various unremoveable bits of software on it that checked into the company network, had an internet site blocker (which sometimes blocked sites I needed to do my work) and I also reckon they spied on me. In fact spying on employees is a major hobby: all calls in and out of the office are recorded and no-one is told, but you will find out when you get your first disciplinary! The planning for field staff is terrible - eg rebuild a laptop in 2 hours, including backups! Yeah, right! And as they have some customers at all ends of the country you will have to break the law to make all your appointments on time. I gave up in the end. This is truly Big Brother stuff like I have never before experienced. I did loads of overtime because I wanted to help customers out but there was never any thanks unless they wanted you to work overtime again, then they were friendly. I knew a few people who worked the Servicedesk and heard the same things you read in other reviews here: they watch you all the time. One girl there was the Boss's spy and she reported everything back to Paul, the ruthless MD. At least you didn't do 80 hour weeks in the office, but due to the spying it must have worn people down. On the technical side the contract sounds great - proper MS courses for two weeks per year but these were not given to me. If you do follow one you will never be able to leave anyway because you have to pay it all back (and you know how costly the courses are). All the stuff in other reviews is true, so I won't repeat it again here. Do yourself a favour and do not take a job here because you will most certainly regret it as an engineer. Can't speak for sales roles though. There were often abrupt emails about colleagues being let go with immediate effect, I always joked this may be me one day, but I left for another job. What a relief! One guy got let go and the email stated that the decision was "mutual." I spoke to him afterwards and he said it was far from mutual - he was fired for not hitting sales targets

Pros

The people and workplace are good. Numerous perks like free lunch.

Cons

KPI's are actually counter-intuitive to good customer service, focussing more on hitting targets. For example, making 2 outbound calls for every 3 received, ensuring no-one actually wants to answer the phone for fear of making their targets unreachable. Unless you're a machine, avoid working here.
