Pros
-Major emphasis on using data to help salespeople -Major emphasis on training -Good direct management who have been salespeople in the past -Generally collaborative culture and team environment -Benefits are good -Better than average pay for entry-level salespeople
Cons
-Completely different territory structure every year. Not just different territories, like size swings of 10-fold for one year to the next all due to decisions from management -Completely inconsistent targets -Extended delays for commission payments -Extended delays for sales target setting and communication -8 levels of middle managers between leadership in Germany and employees in the US -Severely inconsistent or non-existent marketing support -Contradictory, inconsistent directives/ policies on everything due to integration and too many middle-managers -Integration sickness between Millipore and Sigma employees: instead of choosing the best system/process to use from the legacy organizations, we use all systems and processes until it breaks then create new processes that are worse than either previous system/process (caveat: data systems are improving) -Essentially working at a NEW multibillion-dollar global conglomerate with top-down leadership instead of regionalized autonomy
