Pros
Camaraderie - you don't have to have a best friend at work, but you will end up having something close to it. When you spend 40+ hours a week with a group of talented people it will naturally happen. You depend on each other for assistance, guidance, and sanity checks every now and then. Team work - everyone wants to help. Things are busy and a lot is completed to help our customers accomplish more. The way it gets done is through constant communication and help from co workers. I can ask anyone in the company for guidance or help and I will receive it. Not always the answer, but a way I can help myself find the answer in the future. Additional benefits - I personally am not an outgoing athletic person but I like to see people use the gym, basketball court, pool tables and the Top Golf membership. I see people congregate in the lunch room playing games and getting to know each other. As I stated earlier, the connections happen naturally. Industry knowledge - I get to work with all types of industries and learn businesses that I would have never been exposed to. Some are rather unique and some are your typical run of the mill, however each brings their own personality to the company. Professional Maturity - I have been with the company for a few years and I have gained professional maturity through my experiences with the thousands of customers and coworker interactions. This includes patience, acceptance, pushing for more than the status quo, mentorship, and mainly how to simplify a complex situation and see it through to the end. Time off flexibility - There have been multiple times over the years where family situations or personal things have come up and the ability to speak with my manager directly and without judgement is a large part of why I am still here. The understanding and flexibility is great. Technical Expertise - there has never been a time where I was not able to have an issue resolved. The multiple levels of technical expertise is amazing. The knowledge is here for you to learn from if you are willing to put in the work. Bottom line is, if you are getting your work done well, there is a lot you can accomplish here.
Cons
Rapid growth continues to challenge the IT support and Project teams. Hiring new staff members has come a long way from years ago and progress is being made. It is a trade off, Miles provides an excellent service, but in turn continues to grow quickly.
