Horrible Company - Land Agent Midwest Land Group Employee Review

Pros

The company does know about selling land

Cons

MLG uses a "smoke and mirrors" tactic when dealing with clients. Everything is about the brokerage and very little is about you as an agent. They bring you in as a new agent promising support with lead generation. However, that is NOT true unless you kiss the ring. They also talk about the low startup costs. Again, that isn't true. You will be out thousands of dollars with signs, truck decals, multiple trips to Kansas City, etc. While in KC, they just teach you the MLG way and nothing about actually selling real estate. Once you pass their listing certification process, you are thrown to the wolves and expected to figure it out yourself. They are also extremely greedy in their cut of the commissions you make.

Pros

the pay was very good. The agents are great to work with. Most of the office staff were great to work with.

Cons

They manage by fear, micro-manage and if not part of the "click", you will fear for your job daily. Management expects employees to repeat private conversations, or overheard conversations from select minions in order to base opinions on employees.
