Pros
The small team I worked with in the Early Years department was so supportive and fun - we had each other's backs for self and group advocacy, could go to each other for ideas and guidance, and lifted each other up
Cons
No one outside of our department knew what we did, and it had significant negative impacts on team moral, company culture, and pay. In the most recent contract, our team were mislabeled and overall forgotten, leading to us taking an overall pay decrease in the new year and indication of when this would be corrected. Despite several recommendations and stated concerns from the team to pause the internship program and not to list jobs until the pay has been corrected, they have continued to advertise for new people. Almost all interactions I or the team have had with HR has been unkind at best and rude and sassy at worst. Our concerns were frequently met with bread-crumbing and promises that have remained unfulfilled. There has been significant lack of communication and transparency, and when there is communication, the team was made to feel minimized. MiSide formed through a merge between Southwest Solutions and Development Centers, and the division between these former companies is clear, including sometimes rude and hostile comments made to employees about their legacy agency. There is also a pressure on increasing productivity, but a flawed way of measuring it and an apparent disinterest in addressing the concerns presented by the team which would help improve it.
