Pros

Methodist is a great place to work as a nurse, having worked here for 4 yrs going to 5 i can confidently and honestly say that this is the best place in the DFW area to work as an RN. The culture is like no other, everyone enjoys working together and the team work is amazing. Leadership listens and are true to their values, our managers ate awesome and always do what it takes to make all the nurses and PCTs work easier, i have worked in many places in the DFW and i can say so far the Methodist health system has been the best!

Cons

Calling in on the weekend, no PTO pay or sick pay but this has helped alot with staffing

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
