Pros

The people who actually did the job for the right reasons-to help the residents succeed-were great to work with. however, management was so disengaged, these types of employees were few.

Cons

Administration team was less than par. Human Resources (Administration team) spends most of the day smoking outside smoking while locking up the building to both employees and guests. She was never around when a question needed to be answered. The nurse, if you can call her that- also spent most of the day outside smoking. When she was in the building she was so adamant about making other employees aware that she was the "boss". She was constantly antagonizing residents, which in turn, caused them to act out against her. The executive director was rarely there or if he was there was rarely seen or engaged. He kept himself locked away in his office. No open door policy...

Pros

I enjoyed the job itself, but not what coworkers were getting away with even after being reported.

Cons

A Lot of favoritism, unequal opportunities through the Northlake Youth Academy.

Pros

Honestly, I can't think of one! I was a state employee at Southeast Louisiana Hospital before Northlake took over (state contract) and Jindals brilliant idea to privatize Southeast Hospital was to give the state contract to a company that has been in business less than a year and had never run a hospital before!! There is one PRO…the employees who stayed on through the transition. They are simply the best and committed to what they do.

Cons

Administration. From the top down. The same CEO stayed on but he has no backbone to implement real positive change. The same DON stayed on but she is useless except for writing policy. Meridian administration they brought in…clueless! They have put the most incompetent people in key positions. The pay is the worse. State employees to a 20K cut in pay. The worse part is that nobody cares about the problems. The people you have to go to about the problems ARE part of the problem!
