Pros
Some quality teammates across the company. Great snack selection pre-Covid. Familial atmosphere. Great food every day. They encourage you to branch out and learn new skills while working cross-functionally.
Cons
Mercari US is seen as Mercari's shiny toy, therefore the C-suite gets carte blanche on every decision. Once Covid hit, a rather short-sighted and Machiavellian persona within Marketing decided to stage a coup. Five months later the team went from 12, evenly split between male and female, to 5--all female. Lots of crocodile tears. Yikes. Management makes very strange decisions based on favoritism, which can have lasting negative effects on your work/life balance, sanity, and anxiety levels. Way too many meetings, which usually translates to too much oversight and too little production by way of middle, project, and product managers--unless treading water is what they're paid for.
