Pros
Any Investment management consultant position is a challenging role and a good place to be positioned for a long term career in the institutional investment management field. Meketa is as good place as any to get introduced to the industry, but solid advice to anyone looking is to not stick around too long on this sinking ship.
Cons
Management is incompetent and this firm rots from the head down. Personnel are viewed as a commodity and as cheap aftermarket parts. Any financial upside is horded by a small coterie of senior partners. The firm's base business, serving Taft-Hartley multi-employer accounts, is a wasting asset and the rest of the business is "bought" by underpricing incumbent consultants. Who would want to buy this firm much less want to be a partner? A few, including partners, have already voted with their feet and waked away.
