Pros
2 days WFH per week. Decent salary, although I sometimes question it. Management claims my pay is high for a senior role, which I don’t fully agree with. That’s about it.
Cons
Work at this agency is extremely challenging, both in terms of workload and the people you have to deal with. Multiple seniors and colleagues often give conflicting opinions, so you’re left unsure whose direction to follow. The structure is messy, and for newcomers, it’s hard to figure out the “right” way to do things. Deadlines are tight, and some seniors are sarcastic or unhelpful. They’ll ask reflective questions or push you to “reflect” when time is running out, which just adds stress and makes you question your own abilities. This behavior can be demoralizing and mentally exhausting, especially for newcomers trying to find their footing. Sold themselves as a flowery agency to work for in the beginning, but started to see many toxic traits in everyone. There’s a blurry line between friendship and professionalism, often depending on whether you’re a senior/management favorite. Favorites get faster approvals and more support, while everyone else has to work extra hard to get things done on time. Newcomers are mostly left to figure things out on their own. Seniors don’t have time to properly guide you, and mistakes often fall on your shoulders. Creative work receives little support, and accountability always seems to be yours alone, as "Teamwork" is not teamwork at all. Long working hours and frequent overtime are common if deadlines aren’t met. Work can suddenly appear out of nowhere, sometimes tripling your workload without any consideration for your bandwidth. Poor communication between colleagues means you often have to pull late nights just to get things done and start questioning yourselves why you're here to begin with. Socially, colleagues aren’t always welcoming. They may claim to be friendly, but if you’re not part of their clique, you’ll feel excluded. Only a few people are genuinely trustworthy and have heart, so stick close to them. Seniors may gossip behind your back if your work isn’t perfect and they'll start doubting your abilities and why they hire you in the first place. Introverts or those who don’t follow the “company way” risk becoming the black sheep. Beware of HR saying things to you that feels like she is gaslighting you for your actions in the company.
