Pros

Getting experience if you’re a recent graduate. Open to letting you learn more on different projects.

Cons

If you want to work here be ready to be micromanaged to the max from lunch to logging time in for jobs. I was told from a coworker “get used to getting in trouble here” which was exactly what happened. Does not feel like a corporate setting especially because it is a family business so sometimes feels like you’re in their house with family employees getting yelled at on the daily. Definitely recommend if you need experience as a recent graduate but not as an experienced designer. Many of the people that left had bad experiences about management, that they would say rude comments about clients to them yelling at previous employees. The workplace is not collaborative and seems that they are not used to people chatting for a little or collaboration because it is stopped immediately.

I'm glad you felt you earned some good experience here as a recent graduate and that you like having an open door to expanding the topics you could learn about at Media Monkey. I am uncertain about your comment regarding micromanaging, when projects are assigned employees are given the fullest opportunity to work on the project as they see fit while following parameters from the customer. As far as logging time for jobs, this is very typical for an agency that needs to know how to bill time to customers, as you mentioned being recent graduate it is understandable that you might not be familiar with the business aspect of marketing and advertising. Media Monkey embraces internal communications and collaboration on all projects so that everyone here can grow not just as a whole but as individuals as well. We are always wanting to create an environment that fosters growth and creativity and as such we embrace kindness, creativity and ingenuity. Finally your comment of rude comments, yelling, etc. about employees or clients are not tolerated and should be brought to the attention of Edward or Ernest so that it can be immediately addressed and rectified as this will not not contribute to the culture we want at Media Monkey.

Pros

Lots of experience with branding and print material I taught myself a lot here Gave me the time-span of experience needed for other jobs

Cons

Very low pay (not even close to industry standard) Owners seemed more like they cared more about having power over you vs respecting you as an employee Little to no flexibility with personal issues Benefits aren't good Didn't like employees talking to each other much because they wanted more individual work over teamwork. Overall: Take the job if you are trying to build your resume but then keep looking for something that will pay you what you are worth. This was not a good job but it was a job while I looked for something better. I stayed for too long but it contributed to the designer I am today.

Are you sure you have the right company? None of this is remotely close to the experience that we encourage or experience at Media Monkey and would be considered defamation. Compensation and benefits are right there with industry standards and we thrive on teamwork and ingenuity. We are also incredibly flexible when it comes to our employees personal lives. The Tim that works at Media Monkey is absolutely not a single one of the things you have mentioned. There is simply nothing factual about this review in regards to Media Monkey.
