Pros

You could not ask for a better place to start a media career. To begin with, the agency is totally integrated so you learn everything from initial strategy through planning, trafficking and analytics for all media channels. The culture can also not be beat with frequent team building events (Karaoke, Summer BBQ, DJ Fridays), a laid back work space and the option to raise your hand and be included on all kinds of new projects. Its also amazing how many of the directors are willing to pitch in on the nitty gritty work and teach their own team members (or anyone else who needs to learn) at a moments notice. I loved it at TMK and I am so grateful to have worked there.

Cons

While TMK prides themselves on hiring people who are both smart AND nice, quite a few people seem to let the "nice" part fade away as they rise through the ranks. Hopefully the new transparent raise and evaluation structure will make this issue more obvious to upper management before they lose more great employees due to a few bad eggs. If you're seeing a consistent issue with an employee, stop shifting them to new teams and really address the problem.

Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you found it beneficial to start your career at TMK. I'm sorry you encountered some people who weren't nice. And yes, I think you're right, our new quarterly review system should help us identify the bad apples. I'm also sorry you found it hurtful when you were told that working late indicates inefficiencies. If you are working late it is indicative of inefficiencies but it's not necessarily indicative of poor performance on the part of the employees. If the team was understaffed, it wasn't your fault If was our fault for not correcting the problem quick enough.
