Pros

If you want to destroy your mental health- join the company. Medcan presents itself as a leading healthcare organization — but the internal reality tells a different story. A work culture that is demotivating, unsupportive, and unsustainable.

Cons

1. No Room for Growth: Despite hiring individuals with strong qualifications and potential, the organization fails to provide meaningful growth opportunities. Employees who show initiative or a willingness to take on more responsibility often find their efforts overlooked, with no clear career progression available. 2. Lack of HR Support: In cases of internal conflict or workplace issues, employees are left to navigate the situation on their own. HR is frequently described as unresponsive or indifferent, leading to unresolved tensions and a lack of psychological safety in the workplace. 3. High Turnover and Toxic Culture: The revolving door of staff is hard to ignore. High employee turnover is a constant, driven by unrealistic expectations, excessive pressure, and a blame-oriented culture. Rather than fostering a supportive environment, the leadership style appears to focus more on assigning fault than on building solutions or recognizing efforts. Overall, Medcan struggles to retain talent not because people are unwilling to work hard — but because the culture stifles growth, disregards well-being, and provides little incentive for professionals to stay long-term.

Pros

Clinic space is clean and nice, some good coworkers.

Cons

The company is going down the hill recently due to inadequate, substandard management and HR. Lack of emotional intelligence in upper/ lower management, people are treated with blatant disrespect. Very poor company culture that is client/ money focused as they neglect their staff. Leadership is out of touch, upper Management will say that your opinion is valued, but if you speak up about existing problems you will be targeted. Medical Imaging manager seems to have no education or formal training on leadership or how to manage people effectively. She is displaying clear favouritism between team members, as a result employees often feel bullied and harassed by management, instead of getting support. Such prominent inequality between employees has been negatively affecting team morale for a long time. Real professionalism, quality work is not valued, as there is no Medical Imaging quality control even, they care only about numbers.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It’s disappointing to hear that your experience at Medcan has not been all positive. We take concerns raised to HR regarding disrespectful behaviour and favoritism very seriously and ask that you please connect with either HR, the chief of your department, or use our ConfidenceLine to give more insight into your experience and allow us to investigate and rectify. We care deeply about the experiences of our staff and are always open to hearing different opinions and ideas. Medcan is guided by a set of strong and clear values and we focus on making a difference every day in the lives of our clients, ourselves and each other. We have implemented a variety of initiatives to allow our staff to have better work-life balance, provide mental health services, and a number of other wellness focused programs.

Pros

No pros for working here. One start is too much I wish I could give them 0 stars.

Cons

CONS: 1. Micro management (e.g you need to inform and take permission to leave your desk even for your lunch) 2. No work life balance 3. No Hierarchy, more than one person acts as your manager 4. Differential behaviour 5. No clear work assignement 6. Expected to be in too many status calls repeating the same stuff for hourssss. 7. Expected to be available round the clock 8. They want you to handle multiple roles that more than one person should be hired to perform
