Pros
- Somebody gave them some money - They still offer lunch twice a week - They now have enough bathrooms that it isn't often necessary to wait in line - You won't get fired for not doing your job, very few people in engineering have ever been fired -- this means if you want to rest and vest it's a great place to setup camp.
Cons
The architects to not listen to ANY OPINION except their own. The architects are also living in the dark ages throughout much of the stack. This has held and continues to hold the company back. The architects are treated as if they are in an ivory tower, and are untouchable, beholden to no one save themselves. I've even witnessed them into name calling and childish tantrums without reprimand. They don't do any heavy lifting themselves which further increases the disconnect between them and reality.
