Pros
- decent hours
- no big fuss about taking days off (but this depends on the manager)
- support for certifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, etc.
Cons
- lack of growth and development
- incompetent management and general lack of care and respect for the employees
- very high turnover
- culture that values loyalty much more than merit leading to unfair promotion and compensation practices
- secretive management (never really knew what was going on with the firm)
- they hire over qualified analysts to carry out very mundane tasks (i.e. data scrubbing)
- lack of effective communication between managers, employees, and other departments
- no 360 review
