Pros

Good experience learning practical UX applications if you’re new to the field.

Cons

Low pay and little to no work culture. In-person 5 days a week, and most researchers struggle to get jobs afterward because they don’t scope research or collaborate cross-functionally like most other organizations.

Pros

MeasuringU took a leap of faith by giving me the opportunity to work in the competitive field of UX research despite my lack of prior experience. If you are trying to break into UX Research in the tech space look no further this is your place. As someone who was new to the field I believe the experience and exposure you gain here is definitely worth any struggles you may face getting adjusted to the fast paced environment of tech. I got the chance to work on so many cool projects with companies I never thought I would get the opportunity to work with. Throughout my time there, I received unwavering support from the research team whenever I encountered uncertainties or challenges. Additionally, MeasuringU fosters a culture of continuous learning through weekly educational gatherings, led by Jeff, where team members come together to exchange insights and explore innovative research methodologies and data analysis techniques. Overall the connections I forged at MeasuringU were great, and the knowledge I gained was invaluable.

Cons

Some times the fast-paced environment can be overwhelming especially if you’ve never worked within the tech space before. Also, some client schedules can be unpredictable. Projects have the potential to face unexpected hurdles, so you will need to be flexible and quick at problem-solving.

Pros

If you love to wear many hats, and work on big projects for high profile clients, this is a great job for you. The office environment is usually very positive and friendly. The company is pretty friendly to hybrid employee work, and likes to throw fun parties. You're bound to have at least some fun at work when things aren't in crunch mode.

Cons

Not entirely a con because I appreciate the transparency, but being a small company, it tends to be pretty clear when the company is doing well, and when it's struggling. I imagine this is a common rollercoaster with ups and downs that smaller less stable companies have to deal with. When the company is not doing as well, work life balance is sacrificed, the pressure to put in extra hours is palpable, and I feel the judgment when time is taken off. They have an unlimited pto policy which on paper is pretty cool, but many employees feel pressured into taking less time off.
