Pros
Great pay and benefits. You never take your work home. Great cafeteria at amazing prices.
Cons
Absolutely boring. You do the same task over and over for the whole day. There is little or no chance to advance. There are some employees who have been at their sales desk for 15+ years with no advancement. Instead they hire fresh out of Ivy League kids to run as managers when the sales staff knows more than they do. Their grading rubric changes all the time so the way you are graded changes, the same person never grades you. Just depends on who is free to complete that work so it is inconsistent. You are not encouraged to speak to anyone, or talk to anyone regarding anything. Once you finish your sales call, at most wait 5 seconds and get on your next call! WORST thing about the whole experience is not being able to communicate properly with clients. There are certain words and phrases that you cannot say, for example if we don't have something in the catalog you cannot tell them that, you have to tell them that you'll look for it. They can ask you ten times and even though you know for a fact it's not in the catalog you cannot say that. I realize they want to portray a certain image, but to penalize someone for telling someone for normally speaking to a human being doesn't work. Then they want your notes to be precise and exact and detailed, but make sure you write all your notes in 1 minutes or less and send it off to the correct department - oh , which is always changing as well. You're a robot, and for some that might be worth it, to some it may not.
