Pros

M-F. 40 hours, some OT. Theyre medical accommodations are extensive overall.

Cons

You are not hired to help. you are expecred to give the bare minimum explanations and can not explain how a client can respond better to the missing infobrequested by HHSC for their SNAP, medicaid, TANF, etc. The metrics are stupid; expect you to sdhere to your daily schedule a min of 90% but you get docked for a call going into your scheduled lunch, training, meeting, breaks, etc. You can at least skip the training or meeting and your adherence is only hit 1x, but lunch and breaks...those not only get docked for time scheduled but time you still have to take up to legally adhere to those mandated times. Avg handle time is 11 mins or less but you are expected to read verbatim and that system is extensive as well as easy to go down the wrong path. All of which impact your QA scores, which they do not automatically play back your graded call. You get a quarterly bonus.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
