Pros
The discount is decent. Cute Clothes.
Cons
I feel that the quality of clothing is very poor, I have worked at Maurices for quite a while and almost everything I have bought (which is quite a bit), I have only been able to wear a couple of times before it falls apart or gets a snag, or the jewelry just falls apart. Also as part of the Management Team you are urged to wear New fashions, yet they clearance clothes so quick that it is hard to keep up, and even with a discount it is still very expensive to buy new clothes every week. Also the standards are excessive, employees get put on a corrective for their statistical stats, when the DM's, and RM's have no idea what kind of business, you have coming into your store on a day to day basis. Also it creates a lot of unhealthy competition between all the members on the team, everyone is stepping over each other in order to make a sale or get a credit card because if they don't, there is a chance they could loose their job, no matter how much extra stuff they do in the store, or how much of an asset they are to the store. It just creates a lot of tension within the store. There is so much tasking that it is very difficult to task and get everything done that has to be, plus make huge sales AND get 1 in 10 credit cards. Nobody wants to get a credit card in this economy. Also there is no room for advancement, they would rather hire people off the street, who have no knowledge of the company, then to promote someone from within the company.
