Pros

- Slow-paced life compared to the real working world - Very accepting place for incompetence and laziness - Good food choices nearby - Long lunch breaks because the boss goes for longer lunches than you - World tour opportunities

Cons

- Unprofessional display of leadership: outright favouritism and public shaming. Once targeted, you're either ignored or shamed at meetings. - Toxic, manipulative micromanager who spends bulk of her time on gossips and churning office politics. Any personal info will be used as lunch time entertainment with her favourites. - Not much to learn and grow since you're micromanaged to do operational tasks like chess pieces, no opportunity to do real marketing. Opinions and ideas are not welcomed as they might be seen as opposition. - Team does not have good fit for their roles, especially the boss displayed lack of knowledge and skillset to manage marcom / branding, leading to questionable decisions. Appears that favoured members take on leadership roles in the team, regardless of their past experience or competence. - Extremely unproductive: Hour long meetings were set but the bulk of the time was used to 'bond' with members via gossips. The number of handover meetings you have seems to be proportional to how much anger there is towards your resignation, or it could also mean how unclear the boss is of your current tasks at hand. Many have left the department and HR is aware of this but not sure if any actions taken to address it.

Pros

Hybrid-work AWS Decent work pace and culture Bits and pieces of additional employee welfare such as free snacks Pay is always on time If you’re lucky, bosses are really nice and understanding Medical insurance is good, and $400 ish in flexible benefits Definitely covers a good range of benefits. You can have your phone/work on standby when on AL, but colleagues are relatively quite understanding and do not disturb you (unless really urgent). Proper cubicles for work, none of those shared hot desking bs…

Cons

When work comes in, work really comes in. It’ll feel like you cannot breathe sometimes but to be honest, still manageable because it doesn’t happen all the time. After stressful periods, there will definitely be a lull period when you can slowly recuperate. Some bosses are… questionable… and you work with different departments (hence, different bosses too). A few of them are difficult to work with (like, really!). I am however, very lucky to have a really nice boss. Some may say it’s a very traditional and old-school company. But honestly.. not too bad lah, depends if this is really something that bothers you. Sometimes, can have a lot of red tape. You need to chase a lot of people for approvals just to get one thing done. Perhaps, this comes with the “traditional and old-school” culture.

Pros

accessible to affordable food options and pay is on time. join if you want to slack and do little work for pay but depending on your department.

Cons

Full of gossip and conflicts in the marketing team. Many have left because of the department head who creates a culture that is extremely disrespectful and personal mainly coming from her. She has the habit of going behind your back to say nasty things about you to your teammates, gaslighting you and launching personal attacks when she is not happy with no good reason. When you thought you’ve done a good work, and she endorsed it without feedback and is nice about it, it is very disturbing when then the next thing she does, is to say bad things about you to your teammates. During team meeting/lunch, she gossips about colleagues’ (people who trusted her) and senior management’s personal lives and divulged extremely sensitive, confidential and personal information. She used it as entertainment and also for her own personal agenda at work. She will create politics within her own team and if you are not in her clique which is basically not complying to her, you will be in her bully/outcast list. She sows discord between team members by pitching people against one another. When feedback was shared to her about challenges at work, she will use what you’ve shared as her juicy news to gossip (sometimes not even true) to that person and even other colleagues. And if you are in her bully list, she will even gang up with her clique mates and make your life difficult. All this information can be easily corroborated.
