Below market pay, and very slow advancement.
Responsibilities and workload grow fast, unrewarded.
Departments, people, and leadership are pretty siloed (even ivory towered, for some).
Attempts at modern autonomous team structures foiled by reflexive clinging to outmoded hierarchical structure.
Leadership not really involved or aware, lacking understanding and awareness of the work, skills, growth, productivity, or challenges of employees. Rather disconnected, really.
Raises and bonuses halted every presidential election year.
Overly fond of talking head meetings.
A bit of a cliquey, popular kids' table kind of thing going. Definitely seems being considered likable by leadership is the primary driver for advancement.
