Pros

Can't think of any, expected to do so much for the lowest pay I'd recieved in HK

Cons

No sick pay Toxic work culture I was bullied by management, told every week that I was being watched and that nothing I did was good enough, despite never actually seeing the head of the company. When I shared my concerns to HR and a colleague management told all the other staff to not speak to me, I was ousted from meetings and not spoken to for two weeks They refused to give me sick pay by finding a loophole

Pros

This is one of the most professional and well-run tutoring centers around. My employers, Carrie and Donny, were extremely friendly, supportive and fair towards me. They always made sure I had the time and support to prepare for my classes well. In my experience, Maple Tree provided a lot of career advancement opportunities and performance incentives. This really motivated me to try my best and stay at the company for many years. My schedule was tiring, but I always felt like my hard work was being recognized and rewarded. This is a company that truly cares about its employees and students, not just a soulless learning factory like some others. I loved the small class sizes (usually no more than 6) and holiday parties. I have very happy memories of my time working there!

Cons

Before the MTR opened in Ap Lei Chau, food and transport options nearby were limited. Now the area must be much more pleasant and convenient to spend time in. The classrooms are small and windowless, but that's typical for HK. Despite this, they're still clean, bright and welcoming.
