Cons
If you get hired on as a server expect a very long training process. Their “training class” is 6 days in a row, 8am-5pm. It is classroom setting. They basically pound into your head their idea of what culture should be.
You will take a test every morning on the material covered the day before. It must be memorized word for word. Takes about 90 minutes. When you finish the class, if you’re still alive, you have to take a “final exam” which is all the material you learned in the course of the 6 days. They say you should set aside minimum 5 hours to take it (outside of your work schedule). You have to score a 90% or higher.
You then have 5 fellow shifts before you will finally be scheduled on your own and make tips. They say it’s worth it in the end, but all in all the training program felt way too aggressive for a server position. It really drains you.
