Pros

Company seems to be committed to having a team of like minded, supportive people 50% off at all Simms Restaurants

Cons

If you get hired on as a server expect a very long training process. Their “training class” is 6 days in a row, 8am-5pm. It is classroom setting. They basically pound into your head their idea of what culture should be. You will take a test every morning on the material covered the day before. It must be memorized word for word. Takes about 90 minutes. When you finish the class, if you’re still alive, you have to take a “final exam” which is all the material you learned in the course of the 6 days. They say you should set aside minimum 5 hours to take it (outside of your work schedule). You have to score a 90% or higher. You then have 5 fellow shifts before you will finally be scheduled on your own and make tips. They say it’s worth it in the end, but all in all the training program felt way too aggressive for a server position. It really drains you.

Pros

-You get to finish your school required hours to graduate. - Get to learn how to work in a real kitchen environment. - Learn to work with a better sense of urgency

Cons

- Supervision does not treat employees right - The dishwashers are always eating scraps off the guests plates. - If you get very sick or have a family emergency, they expect you to be at work, even if your family passed away. - Very little station room to work with - Very little amount of equipment and containers to store food
