Pros
Great employee discount. Great benefits package. Decent salary People that work there are loyal. Promote from within.
Cons
Nepotism. (Which is fine, but position doesn't match the skill set/education.) No room for growth. Doesn't require education/experience for many corporate positions. (ex. HR Manager has film maker background).Uneducated and unsophisticated people in management positions they are not qualified for. Many employees have worked there since they were teens and have worked their way up into corporate positions. Their skill set is limited. They don't have any outside experience and therefore the company remains antiquated because no one is bringing in new and innovative ideas. The company is way behind compared to other retailers in many aspects. (Merchandise, Fixtures, Markdown Process, Store Design, Marketing...just to name a few). Majority of stores are not maintained. (leaky roofs, rolls in carpet, smelly fitting rooms) Which makes an uncomfortable working situation. Employees are not diverse, except for those that work in the warehouse. Very few minority faces in the corporate headquarters. Not welcoming to new employees (corporate). Very frivolous with spending and budgets. (ex. hiring consulting companies that never yield any results, hiring outside companies to do the social media when it cheaper to do it in house. These companies are charging an absorbent amount for something as simple as changing a facebook profile pic or saying that mannequins are needed. Something a salesperson could do or tell you!)
