Pros

When the economy is up, so are the hours.

Cons

HR is a joke. You have to hound them before you get an answer. But you’d better produce whatever they want or the rude messages and phone calls will begin. Management likes to yell and scream, but don’t you dare stick up for yourself. Whatever position you’re hired on for, be aware that your shift and job-title will be shuffled as they see fit. If you say no, you’ll be told they have to do “what’s best for Magnum”. Also, coworkers will spread rumors that you’re having an affair with other coworkers simply for being nice, so I would advise keeping any conversations to a minimum. Training is a joke. I had one day of training as a dispatcher and was expected to know it all out of the gate.

Pros

Equipment, culture, lanes, pay, home time are all top notch.

Cons

Peterbilt trucks. Not the company fault though. It seems that Peterbilt is incapable of building reliable trucks that don’t break down 2-3 times a year. 8 years with the company and I’m on my 8th truck. My 2024 Peterbilt 579 has been in the shop 7 times. All warranty issues.

Pros

Flexible - ish, you can take time off for family or sickness but their will be comments and guilt trips regardless. You don't really have to actually be accountable as management isn't

Cons

Nobody is accountable Getting yelled at Unwritten rules If you aren't in the "Good ole boys club" your life is subject to the whims of toxic middle management.
