Pros
I think that being paid and having a job is good. UBC is beautiful but far. The benefits cover eyecare.
Cons
-Turnover has tended to be less than 1 year for most employees due to the stress of passive aggressive, underhanded management tactics. I witnessed 4 people quit within my time at a 10-15 person company, then 3 people laid off within a year. That is almost half of the employees. Do not expect to stay here for very long, as it seems to be a temporary occupation for most.
-Conspiracy theories about ex employees take up lots of energy and time.
-Always blaming employees and never regarding any personal fault on the employers end.
-Plenty of favoritism for certain employees.
-Interpersonal issues with management that are incredibly unprofessional and anxiety inducing for most people who I have worked with.
-Very hard to navigate or understand what tasks are, because there are no given tasks.
-Management seems confused and is difficult to understand.
-Passive aggressive remarks, talking behind employees backs, threats to revoke vacation.
-Expectations are to produce things daily, but no tasks are given which creates stress on employees to make things up when there are no real tasks even given.
-Management blaming ex employees for most issue within company and discusses it with current employees, which is unprofessional and makes it clear that all blame is always external.
-The atmosphere when management enters the workplace is extremely tense, anxious, and tends to be demeaning.
