Benefits packages are very good, while they last.
Cons
The commission is very open about their disdain of the corrections division. They will not, or have they ever even bothered to tour the jail and witness the conditions for themselves. They make major decisions while having very little knowledge of operations. You are not an employee, or a person. You are a dollar amount to the county commission. Sheriff has very little power and is very uninvolved in the detention facility, makes huge promises then does little to fulfill them, then blames the commission. Its a burning pit.
