Pros
Macy's are all over the place. If you'd like a place to work that will let you interact with people, it will certainly do that. They are a busy environments and are conveniently located in most malls. If you want to get your foot in the door with loss prevention- it may be a good place to start.
Cons
There is a high turnover rate for most management and associates. They do not care about people- just about numbers. It's sickening. If you didn't catch a certain number of shoplifters (the number coming from LAST year) then you were looked upon badly. You are also expected to take care of operations and other maintenance issues that you were never told about. It is an interesting job, if you can stand the low pay and horrible people- as well as the constant pressure and vigilance. Bottom line? People won't like you- and will see you as an enemy out to get them-- because you are. You're waiting for someone to do any little thing wrong to fire them. If you can live with that? Take the job.
