Pros
Most of the folks that work at the MRIGlobal HQ are down to earth, honest and hard working colleagues that can, with time become good friends. Most folks are pretty easy to get along with for various project work.
Cons
Playing favorites, giving promotions to those who don't ruffle feathers, instead of promoting people who actually are doing valuable work for the company and clients. Having worked there nearly 5 years before I left, it was amazing how toxic that environment was when I went to a workplace that didn't play politics the way MRIGlobal management did. Supposedly valued their Ph.D. chemists, but they definitely promoted lower educated folks before the Ph.D.s, even if they did only half the work the Ph.D.s did!! Another con -- they will make massive decisions (like changing their name from Midwest Research Institute) without perhaps consulting people that could have told them that a simple Google search would have showed another company has that name too!! Another former colleague currently has a lawsuit out against MRIGlobal for discrimination against females which I saw plenty of myself first hand -- both against my colleagues and myself. Innovations were only OK if they were from the chosen "golden boys" that management preferred. Also, a company that is so government contract driven = NO PAY RAISES. Literally went 3 years without a pay raise (not even basic inflation) and the benefits generally went from OK to worse. PTO has to be burned even if you have a sick kid. Also the technical and management career tracks are the SAME after the Staff level. Very hard to be a working mom and have a reasonable work/life balance with some of the upper management being clueless that kids get sick and sometimes you have to stay home with them.
