Pros

Great place to start a career in tech sales and get a foot into Silicon Valley - copier sales looks great on a resume and will easily transfer to an entry level sales role at a start up or larger company in the bay.

Cons

1. The training they provide is little more than some very basic talk tracks. We were scolded if we deviated from the talk tracks by even a word. 2. The copier market is so crowded it is hard to differentiate the products. 3. Don't count on any leads from the company - even if you do get any the same person will have reached out to 5+ other copier companies so the deal immediately becomes a price battle. 4. Manager was a brat and a bully - ruled by fear and anger. No help when it came to actually learning sales or closing business. 5. If you are not part of the 'boys club' clique good luck getting anything done - very much felt like a high school popularity contest. 6. The comp structure is complete crap - they will dazzle you during the interview process with a 110k target earnings - but no one in the company earns close to that in their first year, or even second. 7. At the time we were doing a bunch of coaching sessions by Mary Morrissey - everyone knew it was all garbage but for some reason Bob Leone loved it. Spend that money on real training rather than motivational trash.

Hi there, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you acquired sales skills that have served you in your career from your time working with MRC. From the feedback you left, it is apparent you haven't been with MRC within the last couple of years. We have made a lot of changes since this time, both culturally and in regards to training. Based on employee feedback, we now offer training programs that occurs in an ongoing fashion twice a month for both new hires and interested current employees. Development both personally and professionally is something that MRC feels very passionate about. Furthermore, we have revamped the compensation plan. As always, HR is here to support the staff if they feel they have concerns. Please reach out to the HR team, as we are unable to address issues if we are unaware of them.
