Pros
Good breakfast Fridays Generous indv. workspace (some) good people to work with
Cons
Pay rate is VERY low (making 11.5k more at the same position at another firm) Does not effectively manage people - in my 1 year there at a 27+or- person office 9 people have been hired and 12 people have been fired. Before, the office had a very welcoming and healthy culture with some very good people but there has been a sudden shift from that to a more CYA environment where everyone acts out of fear for their jobs Horrible management of workers time and schedule. they over promise to clients by accepting projects with low budgets they expect workers to keep 50-60 hour work weeks as the norm with no overtime or substantial bonus. They many times expect you to not document hours or allocate them somewhere else causing a bad representation for how long tasks really are and then expecting that same (documented) turnaround the next time. No Professionalism - I have whitenessed (on many occasions) employees, including top level management yell at and outright disrespect others in front of the entire office. I have seen employees being talked about behind their backs and plotted against. Also former employees who were fired being openly slandered and blamed for things they did not do. This helped to create a culture where people only thought about themselves and not about the betterment of others or the company. Inconsistency with management - The VA office is many times instructed/managed in ways that are contrary to the overall company goals. Also Mid level management being instructed in ways that are contrary to managing principal. Little to no opportunity for growth - Raises seem hard to come by and promotions are very limited as they choose to hire for upper level positions instead of promoting from within. I have experienced these 4 things that best summarize
