Pros

Great product and great Corp./Home Office support. Being that you work out of your house having a person in the home office that wants to help you is wonderful. They do use GPS tracking by way of the crappy cell phone they give you , but if your honest and do what your being paid to do, who cares. My Regonal Manager is a good guy and will take your calls 25/8 and do what ever he can to help you learn the product and make the sale. You should be able to earn low 6 figures with hard work and determination.

Cons

Give us BlackBerrys or iPhones, you get on a slow day 12 emails from Lyon/Customers/End Users on a busy day 35-50. And it sucks and wastes time to stop open your Laptop login , down load your email, answer as need, power down put it back in the bag and keep going. They tell us to check our email at least 3 times during the day, and it takes on a normal busy day about 20-30 mins to do it. So a Black Berry or iPhone would not only save alot of time but make it even more efficient by having the ability to check several times a day.

Pros

I've been with the company for several years and can provide a fairly informed review. Benefits: The benefit package is well rounded. Medical (at the time of this review, a BCBS PPO plan), dental, life, voluntary life, short term/ long term disability, PTO and 401k are offered. Management: There have been changes in the management team since the transition in ownership a few years ago. Both the upper management and plant management teams have been working together to make positive changes in many areas - safety, quality, and employee training (to name a few) and while it is still an on-going process will make for a better place to work for Lyon employees. Employee Growth: Critical areas, such as, performance, skills, attendance and attitude are reviewed for internal candidates and open positions. Employees who show a desire to succeed and commit to being present, learning and put forth effort are given opportunities when positions become available. As with most in the manufacturing industry, an increase in orders requires more work during peak seasons. This may lead to longer work days during part of the year. With a look throughout the year, though, it typically balances out. Typically, metal manufacturing plants are not climate controlled, the Lyon facilities follow in that respect. While it would be a nice benefit, realistically most know it isn't feasible. Short Personal Opinion: I enjoy working for Lyon, their management team and with all the other Lyon employees.

Cons

It will get warm in the summer months, but that is true of most metal manufacturing facilities.
