Pros
Lynn is a very unique place. I guarantee it will be unlike anywhere you've ever worked before. People are incredibly friendly, the grounds are beautiful, but there are many glitches. I'll lead with the positives though; generous time off (full 3 paid weeks off for winter break, the ability to leave at 4pm every day during the summer), and tons of free and delicious food. Also, Lynn is a university largely for students with severe learning disabilities, which is a beautiful thing!!!!
Cons
The quote of, "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people," is a true summary of Lynn. Let's just say there's a ton of "people discussing" there... It feels like high school (or worse!) all over again in the sense that your colleagues WILL be saying things about you the moment you leave the room, or think you're out of ear-shot. Instead of focusing on their own individual work, colleagues discuss the frequency of times some one used the bathroom in a day, what they think you did when you used a PTO day (people are audacious enough to ask incredibly personal questions about why you took a sick day, and will tell your manager if they think you are lying), make inappropriate comments about people's appearances, and essentially gossip all day long since the work is not challenging. This is because many department heads encourage their subordinates to rat on each other and will get special treatment if they do.
