Managers tend to trust you to do what needs to be done and do not usually micro manage unless you give them a reason.
Cons
Promotion can be slow. They tend to favor hiring external before highering internally. Also if you move up, they will only offer a 3-5% raise regardless what the industrial standard pay is for that position so make sure you negotiate a good rate coming in.
