∙ Layoffs are used as cover to remove people who ask hard questions or won’t play politics. Expect “collaboration issues” and “communication skills” feedback conveniently appearing after you push back on something. ∙ No formal way to give feedback on your manager. HR surveys exist to check a box — nothing structural ever changes. Feedback flows one way here — down. ∙ Leadership takes credit when things work and sends blame back down when they don’t. The people actually fixing things are rarely the ones getting credit for it. ∙ Every quarter brings a new strategy that sounds good on slides and goes nowhere. The people presenting it can’t execute it. The people who can are too busy protecting themselves. ∙ If you’re in Canada, ask hard questions about offshoring plans before you sign anything.
