Pros

Good place for young attorneys to be placed to learn a lot quickly. Trusted with a lot of work and experience that most firms don't offer.

Cons

With the opportunity to learn a lot comes the lack of direction/feedback in work because of the quantity of work.

Pros

Extremely supportive and welcoming environment where less senior attorneys are free to ask questions and learn from the extensive knowledge of Of Counsel and Partners. Partner for whom I work is always accessible and is genuinely invested in my professional development. The work is complex but rewarding, with interesting and novel legal issues consistently crossing my desk.

Cons

The current billing software is not my favorite and often buffers or refreshes in the middle of an entry. First world problems!

Pros

You will meet some nice people.

Cons

You will meet some of the most evil people in this office. This firm ONLY cares about billing and seeing how far they can push you before you quit. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t take long. This past years first year associate class had 7 out of 16 people gone before the year was up. The selfish behavior of the partners of this firm are to blame. The partners ONLY cared about billing and nothing else. As a new attorney, you will be expected to bill over 2000 hours a year (even though they say the expectation is 1950) and then scream at you when you cannot hit it. Not to mention that work is constantly hoarded and there isn’t enough to meet these hours, but the unrealistic expectations are not attainable in the slightest. Additionally, this firm has certain individuals working for it who will actively sabotage other attorneys (in their own group!) for no apparent reason. Overall toxic workplace that young associates MUST avoid at all costs.
