      Working on some really exciting projects.

      Cons

      Management is generally poor. No recognition for the work you do. There is a culture of secrecy among management, and a lack of transparency. Half of the directorate I work in plan on moving on sooner rather than later.

      Most colleagues are wonderful and a pleasure to work with.

      Cons

      If you are looking to develop a career in local government, then don't join as a PSO. There is very limited career development or progression. Issues with Senior Leadership as well, not understanding how the organisation is run to do a restructure.
