Flexible schedule, wonderful children, great families, some great employees. Allows teachers to babysit for families whose children attend the school.
Cons
Directors are very poor communicators, often passive aggressive, very apathetic, dismissive of valid employee concerns regarding children’s safety, quality of teacher performance, competence of teacher’s ability to care for children. Directors avoid difficult discussions with subpar employees which leads to frustration amongst other staff and the eventual departure of quality teachers. Several verbally abusive teachers who are openly hostile or otherwise unprofessional toward co-workers have been reported multiple times with no action on the part of management. The pay is low and benefits are minimal. The school is in disrepair with broken doors, broken and damaged elements of the large play room. The carpets in the classrooms are filthy, especially in the infant classes. The bathrooms in the toddler and preschool classes are very dirty and rarely cleaned thoroughly. Many classrooms are unorganized, cluttered, and dirty but teachers are often not approached directly about these issues, rather vague staff-wide, and easily ignored emails are sent with reminders of procedure. This proves to be ineffective and does not result in improvement.
